§1101. Unclaimed freight; sale
When any person exercising the right of transportation for hire in Louisiana, shall transport property to the place designated for its delivery, and the property cannot be delivered or has not been called for within sixty days after the arrival of the property at the place of delivery, the carrier may sell the property for cash, at public auction, at such town and street address as may be designated by the carrier, after having duly notified the consignee and consignor by registered mail, and advertised the time, place and terms of such sale for ten days, in the manner required for judicial advertisements for the sale of movables.
A separate advertisement of each article to be sold is not required and one general advertisement is sufficient.
