§1501.1. Tangipahoa Parish Fire Protection District No. 1
As an alternative to the provisions of R.S. 40:1501, the governing authority of Tangipahoa Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 may call an election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the district the question of levying a tax of not more than twenty mills on the dollar for a period of not more than ten years to be used to acquire fire trucks and other fire fighting equipment and for the purpose of maintaining and operating the district's fire protection facilities and paying the cost of obtaining water for fire protection purposes, including charges for fire hydrant rentals and service.
The election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 18:1281 et seq.
