§1269.2. Definitions
For the purpose of this Part:
(1)"Dog" means any member of the canine family or species.
(2)"Inoculation" means the injection, subcutaneously or otherwise, of animal anti-rabies vaccine as approved by the Louisiana Department of Health.
(3)"Owner" means any person who keeps in his care or harbors or who has the custody of a dog.
(4)"Local health authority" means any parish or municipal board, officer, department or other agency charged with the responsibility of preserving the public health.
(5)"Rabies" means hydrophobia (madness), the infectious disease of the brain transmitted by specific virus which occurs in saliva.
