§1243.3. Upper payment limit mechanism for ambulatory surgical centers
A. The Louisiana Department of Health is authorized to seek approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of a program designed to reimburse ambulatory surgical centers that have an agreement with a governmental entity or entities to provide enhanced Medicaid services.
B. The Louisiana Department of Health may develop and maintain a Medicaid upper payment limit financing methodology for ambulatory surgical centers provided for in Subsection A of this Section. The disbursements of money generated by the use of an upper payment limit methodology shall be made only in accordance with an approved waiver or state plan amendment. The source of the nonfederal match for these payments may only be by voluntary certification of expenditures or intergovernmental transfer of funds.
