§8. Fairs and entertainments of religious and benevolent organizations; permit
Upon receiving a written application from any regularly ordained minister, deacon, manager of any church, or president of any religious or benevolent society, expressing the desire to give a fair or other entertainment for the benefit of the church or society, or for other charitable purposes, the justice of the peace of any ward of any parish in which the fair or entertainment is to be held, other than and exclusive of the City of New Orleans, shall furnish the applicant with a written permit to hold the fair or entertainment on the dates for which application is made.
No special tax shall be levied or collected from the managers of the fairs or entertainments held under a permit granted as provided in this Section.
