§2832. Execution of work; contracts; bond
The State Department of Public Works may execute any and all work with its own force and equipment and under its own supervision or the work may be executed on behalf of and for the benefit of the said district by the State of Louisiana, or any agency, department or commission thereof by contract and the contract for all or any part of the work herein authorized may be let by the State Department of Public Works, with or without advertisement, on the terms and subject to the conditions which the said department may determine.
The person or firm to whom the contract or contracts is awarded shall furnish, within the delay fixed by the Department of Public Works, a bond of a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Louisiana, in the amount required by the laws relating to contracts for public work, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the work in accordance with the plans and specification of the engineers of the State Department of Public Works and the terms of the contract. The Department may demand any other bonds and obligations which the laws relating to public works contracts require the contractor to give.
