§1222. Officers of the board; meetings; quorum; per diem
The commission shall elect from among its own members at its regularly scheduled meeting each November, a president, a vice president, a secretary, and a treasurer, whose respective duties shall be prescribed by the commission. At the option of the commission the offices of the secretary and treasurer may be held by one person. The commission shall meet in regular sessions and shall also meet in special sessions at the call of the president of the commission, or on the written request of five members of the commission.
A majority of the members of the commission shall constitute a quorum and all action or resolutions of the commission shall be approved by the affirmative vote of not less than a majority of all members of the commission. The commission shall prescribe rules to govern its meetings and shall fix the place at which meetings shall be held. The members shall receive per diem set by the commission, not to exceed three hundred dollars, during the time the member is in actual attendance upon the board, or performing duties authorized by the board.
The per diem shall be payable for a maximum of twenty-four days per year, except when an emergency is declared by the governor. During the period of an emergency as determined by the governor, the commission shall be authorized to hold as many meetings or emergency activities as the commission deems necessary and the members shall be paid per diem for such meetings or activities.
