§7704. Notice of intention to create; public hearing; boundaries
Before any such consolidated special service district is finally created, the governing authority of the parish shall publish in the official journal of the parish at least once not less than fifteen days prior to the date of the hearing a notice of its intention to create the district and fixing a date for the holding of a public hearing at which all persons interested may be heard on the question of the advisability of creating the consolidated district. The notice of hearing shall set forth the proposed name and boundaries of the district, list the districts to be so consolidated, define the boundaries of any territory not then within the boundaries of an existing district of the same type which territory is proposed to be included in the consolidated district, state the amount of outstanding indebtedness of each district to be consolidated, and the time and place fixed for the hearing.
Upon conclusion of the hearing, the governing authority, in its discretion, may proceed to create the consolidated district with boundaries as set out in the notice of intention or may refrain from creating the consolidated district.
