§4063. Creation of sewerage commission districts
The commission authorized by R.S. 33:4061 may be created by the adoption of a resolution of intention by the council and the publication by the council of a notice setting forth its intention to create the commission. The notice shall be published once a week for three consecutive weeks, with the first notice to appear in the official journal of the parish not less than ten days prior to the date specified for a public hearing to be held on the council's intention to create such commission.
After holding public hearings on the matter, the council may adopt a resolution creating the commission and designating sewerage areas, systems, or districts, including the Greater Baton Rouge Consolidated Sewerage District, placed under the jurisdiction of the commission. The resolution adopted by the council shall contain the names of the twelve commissioners appointed by the mayor-president and approved by the council, and shall designate the date, time, and location of the first meeting of the commission.
