PART IV. INTERSTATE FLOODING MITIGATION
§481. Comprehensive engineering comparative analysis of flood mitigation methods; Livingston Parish
A. The department shall develop a comparable cost analysis of engineering methods to improve water drainage issues resulting from impediments to the natural water flow on the Interstate 12 corridor in Livingston Parish along existing median walls which may additionally or alternatively include potential engineering solutions as well as retrofitting the existing median walls to improve the natural water flow along the Interstate 12 corridor.
B. The comparable analysis of potential engineering solutions shall include the following:
(1)Practical and cost-effective engineering methods and potential solutions used by other states including but not limited to Texas.
(2)Projected costs associated with the potential solutions.
(3)Projected construction timelines for the potential solutions of the methods used.
C. The department shall provide a report of the comparative analysis of potential solutions including those used by other states and methods necessary for implementation to the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works and the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, not later than October 1, 2023.
