§906.1. Surface mining and reclamation fees
There is hereby imposed on all permittees under the supervision of the secretary pursuant to this Chapter, Surface Mining and Reclamation Act, an annual regulatory fee of eight cents per ton on all coal and lignite mined in this state and an annual reclamation fee of six dollars for each acre of land included within the approved mine permit area. The revenue received from these fees shall be used for the purpose of enforcing the Louisiana Surface Mining and Reclamation Act and regulations promulgated thereunder.
