§3680. False statements as to agricultural products and sales; penalty
No person doing a commission or brokerage business shall render any false statement or account of sales of any cotton or other agricultural product to the shipper, nor falsely represent that the product is being held for future sale when in fact the product has been sold and only a sample retained. No person shall sell any cotton or other agricultural product received on consignment without rendering to the consignor within ten days after delivery a complete account of the sale showing the grade, price received, and the name of the purchaser and his post-office address.
No person rendering an account of sales of any cotton or other agricultural product shall make on the account any false charge or false statement or report of the condition of the product, render any account for shortage, nor make any other false report calculated to deceive the consignor, with intent to defraud.
Whoever violates this Section shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars, and imprisoned for not less than thirty days nor more than six months.
