§2194. Training for local workforce development board members
A. The office of workforce development shall provide management, diversity, and board development training for all members of local workforce development boards that includes information regarding the importance of high-quality workforces to the economic prosperity of their communities and encourages board members to be advocates in their communities for effective and efficient workforce development programs. Such training shall also include instruction regarding the certification of business/career solution centers and state ethics laws.
If a member of a local workforce investment board does not receive training under this Section before the ninety-first day after the date on which the member begins service on the board, the person is ineligible to continue serving on the board unless the training required under this Subsection was requested by the member but not provided by the office of workforce development.
B. Training may be provided directly by the office of workforce development or by a third party that has demonstrated experience in providing training to local workforce development or similar boards.
