§3302. President of a public postsecondary education system; appointment; salary
A. There shall be a president of each public postsecondary education system, who shall be the executive officer of the postsecondary system and shall serve as secretary to the system's governing board and its executive committee and standing and special committees. The system's governing board shall select and appoint the system president. During the selection process, the Board of Regents or its designee shall be given the opportunity to interview the person to be chosen to serve as system president on issues related to statewide planning and coordination.
The system president shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing board. His salary shall be fixed by and recorded in the proceedings of the board.
B. Except as herein otherwise provided and subject to the control and supervision of the board, each president or chief administrative officer shall be responsible to the board for the conduct of the affairs of the postsecondary system. He shall execute and enforce all of the decisions, orders, rules, and regulations of the board with respect to the conduct of the postsecondary system.
