§227. State directors of child welfare and attendance; duties
The state superintendent of education shall appoint or designate members of the department of education whose primary responsibility shall be to supervise and enforce the provisions of this Sub-part and who shall serve as state director and assistant state directors of child welfare and attendance. The state director and assistant state directors of child welfare and attendance shall meet the certification standards set by the state board of education, for visiting teachers, or supervisors of child welfare and attendance, and shall be responsible for the general administration of this Sub-part.
The state superintendent of education is authorized to prescribe the duties of the state director and assistant state directors of child welfare and attendance, and to make such rules and regulations for the performance thereof, not inconsistent with law, as will promote the purposes of this Sub-part.
