RS 16:2.1
§2.1. Duty of district attorney to act as counsel for recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish
Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 16:2 or of any other law to the contrary, the Recreation and Park Commission for the parish of East Baton Rouge may retain, select, and/or employ, on a full or part time basis or on retainer, an attorney or attorneys to serve as its regular or special attorney or attorneys to serve as counsel for the commission as the commission may determine. In such case the commission may fix and pay the salary or compensation of said attorney or attorneys.
The employment of an attorney or attorneys under this authorization shall relieve the district attorney of his responsibility to serve as attorney for the commission, only in such instances as the commission employs or retains a special attorney or if the commission exercises this authority in order to employ or retain a regular attorney to handle all legal matters for the commission.
