§3407. Fiscal affairs of the fund; investment
The board of trustees may at any time, after considering the probable current demands upon such fund, determine what portion of said fund may be safely withdrawn from the current cash account for investment and, having so determined, invest the same in the manner hereinafter authorized, and all proceedings of the board of trustees relating thereto shall be entered upon its records. In acquiring, investing, reinvesting, exchanging, retaining, selling and managing fund property, the board of trustees shall exercise such skill and care as a man of ordinary prudence, discretion, and intelligence would exercise in the management of his own affairs, not in regard to speculation, but in regard to the permanent disposition of his funds, considering the probable income as well as the probable safety of his capital.
Within the limitations of the foregoing standard, the board of trustees is authorized to acquire and retain every kind of property and every kind of investment. All income from such investment shall be and become a part of said firemen's pension and relief fund. All such property shall be deposited with the treasurer of the board of trustees, and the receipt therefor filed in the record books.
