§3141. Cost-of-living increases
Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the city of Bastrop shall pay, out of the annual revenues of the General Alimony Tax or the dedicated Fire Department millage tax of the consolidated fire districts of the city of Bastrop, a cost-of-living increase in all benefits being received by the beneficiaries of the Fund in an amount equal to the same percentage increase as the cost-of-living increase in benefits granted by the board of trustees of the Firefighters' Retirement System in the current fiscal year to its retirees and beneficiaries.
The effective date of any such cost-of-living increase granted by the city of Bastrop shall be the same effective date of the respective cost-of-living increase granted by the board of trustees of the Firefighters' Retirement System.
