(1)Any riverport authority created pursuant to KRS 65.510 to 65.650 may make
commitments to the United States to provide certain specific minimum facilities
and to provide spoilage areas when such commitments are necessary to obtain the
assistance of the United States in improving the navigability of any river.
(2)Any such commitments made pursuant to this section shall be with the approval of
the appointing authority.
