No minor under fourteen
(14)years of age shall be employed, permitted, or suffered to work in, about, or in connection with any gainful occupation at any time, except for employment in connection with an employment program supervised and sponsored by the school or school district such child attends, which program has been approved by the Department of Education and subject to the regulations of the commissioner of the Department of Workplace Standards.
