314.071 Renewal of licenses -- Reinstatement of licenses.

(1)The license of every person issued under the provisions of this chapter shall be
renewed for a period of time as determined by the board by administrative
regulation promulgated pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A, except as hereinafter
provided. The applicant shall fill in the application form truthfully and accurately
and return it to the board with the renewal fee prescribed by the board in a
regulation before the expiration date of his current license. The board shall prescribe
by regulation the beginning and ending of the licensure period.
(2)Any licensee who allows his license to lapse by failing to renew the license as
provided above may be reinstated by the board on payment of current fee and by
meeting the regulations of the board.
(3)Notice that the license must be renewed shall be sent to the address of record
pursuant to KRS 314.107 of each licensee before the expiration date of the license.
(4)Any person practicing nursing during the time the license has lapsed shall be
considered an illegal practitioner and shall be subject to the penalties provided for
violations of the provisions of this chapter.
