237.142 Availability of range facilities for retired peace officers.

(1)The following agencies of the Commonwealth shall make range facilities available
not less than four
(4)days per year for firearms qualification by retired peace
officers seeking certification pursuant to the provisions of KRS 237.138 to 237.142:
(a)The Justice and Public Safety Cabinet;
(b)The Department of Military Affairs; and
(c)The Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
(2)Firearms qualification may be conducted at any location, public or private, at which
a handgun may be safely fired. The safety of the location at which firing takes place
shall be the responsibility of the instructor conducting the qualification.
