The department shall employ boiler inspectors who have at the time of appointment not less than five
(5)years of practical experience in the construction, maintenance, repair, or operation of high pressure boilers and pressure vessels as a mechanical engineer, practical steam operating engineer, boilermaker, pressure vessel inspector or boiler inspector, and who shall have passed the examination required by KRS 236.090.
