212.890 Powers of local and district health departments.

County, city-county, and district health departments may in addition to other powers specified in KRS 212.245:
(1)Acquire title, by purchase or otherwise, with the approval of the cabinet, to real
estate and such other property as may be necessary;
(2)Maintain in each county not less than one
(1)office and such others as are deemed
necessary;
(3)Lease real and personal property;
(4)Procure liability insurance;
(5)Except as otherwise provided by law, do all other things reasonably necessary to
protect and improve the health of the people.
