205.227 Action by secretary against persons legally liable for support.

(1)The secretary or his authorized representative may initiate any action under the laws
of this state against a parent or other person legally liable for support who has failed
to provide support for the person to whom an obligation of support is owed and who
is receiving public assistance benefits under this chapter.
(2)The secretary or his authorized representative may institute an action in Circuit
Court against a parent or other person legally liable for support who has failed to
provide support for the person to whom an obligation of support is owed, for
reimbursement of payments made by the cabinet under this chapter for the benefit
of the person to whom an obligation of support is owed.
(3)This in no way limits the cabinet's authority to commence an action under the
provisions of KRS Chapter 406 or 407.
