181.640 Purchase of real property -- Contracts to be advertised and awarded.

(1)The commission may purchase within this and any adjoining state all real property
and interest in real property necessary for the construction of the bridge, upon such
terms and at such prices as it considers reasonable and that can be agreed upon
between it and the owner. Title shall be taken in the name of the city.
(2)No contract for the construction of the bridge exceeding the sum of twenty-five
hundred dollars ($2500) shall be made without advertising for bids. The bids shall
be opened publicly and an award made to the best bidder. The commission may
reject any or all bids.
