117.105 Purchase or lease of voting systems.

(1)The legislative body of any county, urban-county government, charter county,
consolidated local government, or unified local government shall purchase or lease,
from available funds or from the proceeds of bonds which may be issued for that
purpose, voting systems for use in primaries, regular elections, and special
elections.
(2)Any voting system purchased, leased, or otherwise acquired by the legislative body
of any county, urban-county government, charter county, consolidated local
government, or unified local government on or after June 29, 2021, shall comply
with the requirements of KRS 117.125.
(3)Nothing in this section shall prohibit a county board of elections from performing
maintenance on voting equipment that has been previously certified by the State
Board of Elections and is in use on June 29, 2021.
