242.126 Effect on local option status of a county if urban-county government

(1)The adoption of urban-county government by a county when the local option status
of the county is different from any of the cities contained therein shall not affect the
local option status of the county or any of the cities contained therein. The territorial
boundaries in the county shall survive the adoption of urban-county government for
purposes of an election pursuant to KRS 242.125. The adoption of urban-county
government shall not impede or affect the right of a county or city contained therein
to determine its own local option status.
(2)No part of this section shall apply to any urban-county government established prior
to July 13, 1990.
