(1)To facilitate opportunities for statewide participation by public school children in
the Commonwealth in educational experiences available through the Kentucky
Center for the Arts, the Department of Education shall administer the Ride to the
Center for the Arts Program. Moneys from the ride to the center for the arts fund
shall be used to provide matching funds to local school districts for the cost of
transportation of students in grades six (6), seven (7), eight (8), and nine
(9)for the
purpose of visiting the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
(2)Grants shall be in the amount equal to one-half (1/2) the total transportation cost of
the visit, as submitted and certified to by the local district to the chief state school
officer or his designee.
(3)The Kentucky Board of Education shall promulgate administrative regulations as
may be needed in the administration of the program and disbursement of moneys
from the fund.
