8-257. Surrender of license; division authorized to destroy; application.
(a)The division, upon suspending or revoking a license, shall require that such license shall be surrendered to the division.
(b)Upon the receipt of any Kansas driver's license or permit that has been surrendered under any provision of law, and notwithstanding any other provision of law that requires the division to retain the license or permit, the division may destroy such license or permit.
(c)For purposes of this section, the term "surrendered" shall include, but not be limited to, Kansas drivers' licenses and permits received by the division due to the application of the following statutes: K.S.A. 8-246 , 8-250 , 8-253 , 8-255 , 8-260 , 8-292 , 8-298 , 8-2,142 , 8-1002 , 8-1567a , 8-1599 and 8-2117 and K.S.A. 38-2361 , and amendments thereto.
