8-2008. Erection and maintenance of stop signs, yield signs and traffic-control devices. The secretary of transportation, with reference to state highways, and local authorities with reference to highways under their jurisdiction may erect and maintain stop signs, yield signs, or other official traffic-control devices to designate through highways, or to designate intersections or other roadway junctions at which vehicular traffic on one
(1)or more of the roadways shall yield or stop and yield before entering the intersection or junction.
