8-1605. Duty of driver upon damaging unattended vehicle or other property; misdemeanor.
(a)The driver of any vehicle which collides with or is involved in an accident with any vehicle or other property which is unattended, resulting in any damage to such other vehicle or property, shall immediately stop and shall then and there either locate and notify the operator or owner of such vehicle or other property of such driver's name, address and the registration number of the vehicle such driver was driving, or shall attach securely in a conspicuous place in or on such vehicle or other property a written notice giving such driver's name, address and the registration number of the vehicle such driver was driving, and without unnecessary delay shall notify the nearest office of a duly authorized police authority. Violation of this subsection is a misdemeanor and, upon conviction shall be punished as provided in K.S.A. 8-2116 , and amendments thereto.
(b)The driver under subsection (a), if possible, shall comply with the provisions of K.S.A. 8-15,107 , and amendments thereto.
