75-5018. Creation of advisory boards, commissions or committees within the department; allowances and expenses of members. The secretary of transportation may create advisory boards, commissions or committees with the approval of the governor, and members of any such board, commission or committee shall be appointed by the secretary. Any such advisory board, commission or committee so created shall be within the department of transportation as a part thereof. Such advisory boards, commissions or committees shall consult with and advise the secretary or the chief administrative officer of any division designated by the secretary, with reference to the management, control and operation of any programs under the jurisdiction of the department or with reference to any law administered by the department or any division thereof.
Members of any advisory board, commission or committee created under authority of this section attending meetings thereof, or attending a subcommittee meeting thereof authorized by such board, commission or committee, shall be paid amounts provided in subsection
(e)of K.S.A. 75-3223 . All vouchers for expenditures and all payrolls of each of such advisory boards, commissions or committees shall be approved by the presiding officer thereof and the secretary of transportation or a person or persons designated by him or her.
