68-597. Procedure upon adoption; abandonment of system. Any county in this state which has heretofore adopted or may hereafter adopt the provisions of this act may at any general election after two
(2)years from the date of such adoption abandon such system and return to the original county and township road system prevailing in the county before the adoption of the same: Provided, That every outstanding contract made by such county while operating under the provisions of this act [is] fully satisfied and complied with.
