65-1155. Expiration of authorizations to practice; renewal; lapsed authorization; reinstatement fee.
(a)All authorizations to practice under this act, whether initial or renewal, shall expire every two years. The biennial authorizations to practice as a registered nurse anesthetist shall expire at the same time as the license to practice as a registered nurse. The board shall send a notice for renewal of the authorization to practice to every registered nurse anesthetist at least 60 days prior to the expiration date of such person's authorization to practice. To renew such authorization to practice the registered nurse anesthetist shall file with the board, before the date of expiration of such authorization to practice, a renewal application together with the prescribed biennial renewal fee. Upon satisfaction of the requirements of subsection
(a)of K.S.A. 65-1159 , and amendments thereto, the board shall grant the renewal of an authorization to practice as a registered nurse anesthetist to the applicant.
(b)Any person who fails to secure the renewal of an authorization to practice prior to the expiration of the authorization may secure a reinstatement of such lapsed authorization by making application on a form provided by the board. Such reinstatement shall be granted upon receipt of proof that the applicant is competent and qualified to act as a registered nurse anesthetist, has satisfied all of the requirements and has paid the board a reinstatement fee as established by the board by rules and regulations in accordance with K.S.A. 65-1118 , and amendments thereto.
