44-1804. City and county not restricted from adopting standards that meet or exceed K.S.A. 44-1801 et seq.; annual notice to state fire marshal of such standards adopted. Nothing in this act shall be construed to preempt or otherwise restrict a city or county from adopting or continuing any requirements or standards that meet or exceed those of this act and any rules and regulations adopted pursuant thereto. Any city or county that has adopted such requirements or standards shall notify the state fire marshal of such adoption on or before June 30, 2023, and on each June 30 thereafter.
