40-2229. Mammogram and pap smear coverage; policies to which mandated coverage applicable. Except as otherwise provided, this act applies to any individual, group or blanket policy of accident and sickness, medical or surgical expense coverage and any provision of a policy, contract, plan or agreement for medical service including any contract of a health maintenance organization as defined by K.S.A. 40-3202 , and amendments thereto, delivered, renewed or issued for delivery on or after the effective date of this act within or outside of this state or used within this state by or for an individual who resides or is employed in this state.
The provisions of this act shall not apply to any medicare supplement policy of insurance, as defined by the commissioner of insurance by rule and regulation, any policy of long-term care insurance, as defined by K.S.A. 40-2227 , and amendments thereto, any specified disease or specified accident coverage or any accident only coverage as defined by the commissioner of insurance by rule and regulation whether written on a group, blanket or individual basis.
