38-2404. Recommendation of programs and services to families during investigations. During any child protective investigation by the Kansas department for children and families that does not result in an out-of-home placement due to abuse of a child, the department is authorized and encouraged to provide information to the parent or custodian about community service programs that provide respite care, voluntary guardianship or other support services for families in crisis, including organizations that operate programs authorized under K.S.A. 38-2403 , and amendments thereto.
In providing information, the department is authorized to exercise its discretion in recommending programs, organizations and resources to the parent or custodian.
