23-2517. Solemnizing marriage; persons not authorized; penalty. It shall be unlawful for any person not a duly authorized officiating person as provided by K.S.A. 23-2504 to perform the marriage ceremony in this state. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six
(6)months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
