19-3816. Statement before action against district; time for settlement. No action shall be maintained by any person or corporation against any industrial district organized under the provisions of this chapter on account of injury to persons or property unless the corporation or person injured shall within thirty days thereafter and prior to the bringing of the suit file with any officer of the industrial district a written statement, giving the time and place of the happening of the accident or injury received and the circumstances relating thereto.
Such industrial district shall have sixty days from the time of the filing of such statement to make settlement with the claimant if it so desires.
