19-2664. Election for museum and cultural center; amount of bonds. Any county voting to establish a steam and oil museum and cultural center may erect, restore, maintain and equip museum buildings and building and grounds of cultural interest and procure and own sites therefor, and pay expenses in connection with the ownership and operation thereof; and may issue general obligation bonds of such county from time to time in an aggregate total amount not exceeding three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for the purpose of paying the cost of such buildings, equipment and sites.
Before issuing any bonds hereunder the question of such issuance shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the county and if a majority of those voting on the proposition shall vote in favor thereof, such bonds may be issued. A proposition to issue such bonds may be combined with the proposition to establish a museum under the provisions of K.S.A. 19-2663 . The election shall be called and held, and the bonds issued thereunder in accordance with the provisions of the general bond law.
