Sec. 5-20. Disposition of liens. Neither the act of affixing a manufactured home to a permanent foundation nor the recording of the affidavit of affixation shall impair the rights of any holder of a security interest in or lien on a manufactured home perfected as provided in Section 3-202 of the Illinois Vehicle Code, unless and until the due filing with and acceptance by the Secretary of State of an application to surrender the title as provided in Section 3-116.2 of the Illinois Vehicle Code and release of all security interests or liens as provided in Section 3-205 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
Upon the filing of such releases, the security interests or liens perfected under Section 3-202 of the Illinois Vehicle Code are terminated. The recording of an affidavit of affixation does not change the character of any security interest or lien noted on a certificate of title, and no recording tax shall be imposed at the time an affidavit of affixation is recorded upon any security interest in or lien on a manufactured home perfected under Section 3-202 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
