Sec. 7. Employees and assistance of other agencies. Subject to the provisions of the "Personnel Code" enacted by the 69th General Assembly, the Department may employ an administrative officer, technical experts and such other agents and employees, permanent and temporary, as it may require. The Department may call upon the Attorney General of the State for such legal services as it may require. The Department shall require surety bonds for all its officers and employees who are entrusted with funds or property under this Act and shall provide for an annual audit of their accounts.
The Department may establish and provide suitable office accommodations and the necessary supplies and equipment.
Upon request of the Department, for the purpose of carrying out any of its functions, the supervising officer of any State agency, or of any State institution of learning shall, in so far as may be possible under available appropriations, and having due regard to the needs of the agency to which the request is directed, assign or detail to the Department members of the staff or personnel of such agency or institution of learning and make such special reports, surveys or studies as the Department may request.
