Sec. 9-2-79. The collector receiving such a warrant shall give notice thereof within 10 days by publishing a notice once each week for 2 successive weeks in one or more newspapers published in the municipality, or, if no newspaper is published therein, then in one or more newspapers with a general circulation within the municipality. In municipalities with less than 500 population in which no newspaper is published, publication may instead be made by posting a notice in 3 prominent places within the municipality.
This notice may be substantially in the following form: "SPECIAL ASSESSMENT NOTICE Special Warrant, No. .... Notice: Publication is hereby given that the (here insert title of court) has rendered judgment for a special assessment (or special tax) upon property benefited by the following improvement: (here describe the character and location of the improvement in general terms) as will more fully appear from the certified copy of the judgment on file in my office; that the warrant for the collection of this assessment (or special tax) is in my possession.
All persons interested are hereby notified to call and pay the amount assessed at the collector's office (here insert location of office) within 30 days from the date hereof.
Dated (insert date). .... (Collector)."
When such an assessment or special tax is levied to be paid in installments, the notice shall contain also the amount of each installment, the rate of interest deferred installments bear, and the date when payable.
