Sec. 11-36-4. As soon as is convenient after their appointment, the members of the board of examiners shall meet and designate the times and places for the examination of all persons specified in Section 11-36-1 who apply to them. The board shall examine these applicants as to their practical knowledge of masonry and mason construction and all matters pertaining to mason construction, and, if satisfied as to the competency of an applicant, shall thereupon issue a license to him, authorizing him to engage in the business of mason contracting or employing mason.
The license fee for such a mason contractor or employing mason shall be fixed by the corporate authorities of the municipality. The license shall be valid and have force throughout the state for a period of one year from its date of issuance and may be renewed upon its expiration by paying in advance an annual renewal fee to be fixed by the corporate authorities. All license fees received shall be paid into the treasury of the municipality where the licenses are issued.
