Sec. 7-605. Uninsured motor vehicles - notice. If the Secretary determines that an owner has registered or maintained the registration of a motor vehicle without a liability insurance policy in accordance with Section 7-601 of this Code, the Secretary shall notify the owner that such owner's vehicle registration shall be suspended 30 days after the date of the mailing of the notice unless the owner furnishes proof of insurance in effect on the verification date, as prescribed by the Secretary, or provides an exemption from the mandatory insurance requirements as specified under subsection
(b)of Section 7-601. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the giving of notice by mail under this Section or Section 7-603.5 shall be deemed complete upon the deposit of that notice in the mail and the 30-day notice period shall begin upon deposit.
