Sec. 3-607. Amateur radio operators. Amateur radio operators may obtain the issuance of registration plates or digital registration plates for motor vehicles of the first division, motorcycles, autocycles, and second division motor vehicles under 8,000 pounds, corresponding to their call letters, provided they make application therefor, which is subject to the staggered registration system, prior to October 1st of the final year of the current registration plate or digital registration plate term and pay an additional fee of $4.
