Sec. 5-1124. Second-hand and junk stores.
(a)The county board of a county may:
(1)License, locate, and regulate all places of business of dealers in junk, rags, and
any second-hand article whatsoever.
(2)Forbid any person or entity licensed or regulated under this Section from purchasing
or receiving from minors, without the written consent of their parents or guardians, any article whatsoever.
(3)Impose the licensing and regulation of such dealers as additional duties pursuant to
Section 5-1087 of this Code.
(b)Nothing in this Section shall apply to a licensee of the Secretary of State under Chapter 5 of the Illinois Vehicle Code or to an insurer or self-insurer of motor vehicles.
