Sec. 35-5. Amphibians. For the purposes of this Section, "amphibians" means those medically significant poisonous amphibians capable of causing bodily harm to humans or animals, including, but not limited to, cane or marine toads (Bufo marinus) and Colorado river toads (Bufo alvarius), or any other amphibian found to be medically significant and listed in administrative rule. Amphibians defined in this Section shall only be allowed for bona fide educational purposes or research purposes by bona fide scientific or educational institutions.
Poison dart frogs bred and raised in captivity shall be exempt from the permit process.
