Sec. 16-142.1. Survivors' benefits - minimum amounts.
(a)The minimum survivor's benefit for any one beneficiary shall be the lesser of
(1)$30 per month, or
(2)80% of the retirement annuity for which the member would have been eligible at age 60.
(b)When the death of a member or annuitant occurs after June 30, 1975, the following minimum survivor's benefit shall be payable:
(1)The minimum total survivor's benefit payable on account of the death of a member shall be 50% of the retirement annuity earned by the member under paragraph
(B)of Section 16-133 as of the date of death of the member and which would have been payable upon the later of attainment of age 60 or date of death when death occurs prior to retirement.
(2)The minimum total survivor's benefit payable on account of the death of an annuitant shall be 50% of the retirement annuity or disability retirement annuity paid to the annuitant at the time of death.
(c)The minimum survivor's benefit for the surviving spouse of a member who died on or before December 31, 1983 after 10 or more years of creditable service shall be $200 per month.
